The stabilizer anchors attach to each end of the upper crossbar and connect to your vehicle's roof rails or hitch receiver via the included straps. This creates a triangulated connection between the rack and vehicle that significantly reduces side-to-side movement under heavy loads (like bumpy roads or wind currents generated by semi-trucks at highway speeds).
Required when carrying over 250 lbs total bike weight. Recommended any time you're loading 5+ bikes or carrying heavy e-bikes. The straps are adjustable and quick to connect — add about 2 minutes to your loading routine.
The anchors are installed and removed tool-free for easy storage when not in use.
Compatible with RSD 4, RSD 5, RSD 6, and RSD 8. Not compatible with RSD 2 (the 2-bike rack doesn't generate enough lateral load to need them).
