80 lb per Bike

The RSD5 is one of our best sellers for a reason — five bikes is the right number for a lot of families and riding groups. Two adults and three kids. A NICA family hauling a parent's bike alongside the team bikes. A riding crew that doesn't need six positions but has outgrown four.
If you're cross-shopping 5-bike racks, the differences that matter are the ones you live with: cradle flexibility, weight ratings you can trust, a tilt mechanism that doesn't wear out, and a warranty that doesn't expire. That's what the RSD5 is built around.

Product Description

Five bikes. Fully configurable. The 5-bike rack is one of the most popular sizes in the premium vertical rack segment — and the RSD5 is how we think it should be built.

The RSD5 uses an asymmetric crossbar layout — three positions on one side, two on the other — giving you the capacity that families and serious riding groups actually need. Every position is rated to 80 lbs individually, with a 250 lb total capacity (350 lbs with stabilizer straps and anchors). Configure it with any combination of Standard wheel cradles, XL cradles for plus-size tires, or up to two OTB handlebar cradles for kids' bikes.

Where the RSD5 separates from other 5-bike racks on the market: configurable cradle types on every position, a foot-activated tilt latch included standard, built-in spare tire and tailgate clearance with no adapters, field-serviceable hardware, and a lifetime warranty. Powder-coated steel. Built in Utah.

FAQ
Can I mix different cradle types on the same rack?

Yes — that's the whole idea. You can combine Standard Wheel, XL Wheel, and OTB Handlebar cradles in any configuration that fits your rack. Going on a trip with all adult bikes? All Standard cradles. Weekend with the kids? Add some Handlebar cradles. You configure it when you order, and you can swap cradles later in about 10 minutes.

What is the OTB Handlebar Cradle?

The OTB holds your bike by the handlebars instead of the wheels — two padded arms cradle the bar and the bike hangs vertically. Tire size doesn't matter, so it's the go-to for fat bikes over 5" wide, bikes with fenders, cargo bikes, kids' bikes, or anything that doesn't fit a standard wheel cradle. The configurator shows you exactly which positions support OTB cradles.

Can the rack handle e-bikes?

Absolutely. At 80 lbs per bike — and tested well beyond that — e-bikes are well within the RSD's capability. If your e-bike has wider tires, just spec an XL Wheel Cradle for that position.

What bikes fit in the XL Wheel Cradle?

The XL Wheel Cradle accommodates tires up to 26" × 5.0" or 27.5" × 4.5". That covers fat bikes, most plus-size tires, and heavy-duty e-bike tires. If your tire is wider than what the XL fits, the OTB Handlebar Cradle is your best option — it fits virtually any bike regardless of tire width.

Does the rack clear a spare tire on my Jeep or Bronco?

Yes. The RSD system is designed with rear-mounted spare tire clearance built in. No extra adapter or extension needed.

Does it include a hitch lock or bike lock?

Every rack includes a stabilizer clamp. The threaded locking hitch pin (to lock your rack to your car) and cable lock set to lock your bikes to your rack) are available as optional accessories.
