Warranty Policy

Lifetime Limited Warranty

All MTNtek bike racks are backed by a lifetime limited warranty against defects in materials and manufacturing to the original purchaser. While many premium bike racks carry a 2-year warranty, we stand behind ours for life.

This warranty covers structural failures, manufacturing defects, and material defects that occur under normal use and proper installation per our assembly guide.

Intended Use

MTNtek bike racks are designed and rated for recreational bicycle transport only. Do not use for motorcycles, scooters, e-bikes exceeding the per-position weight rating, or non-bicycle cargo. Stabilizer straps and anchors (sold separately) are required to achieve the 350 lb total weight rating.

What Is Covered

  • Structural failure of the mast, crossbars, or hitch base under normal use within rated weight limits (80 lbs per bike position, 250 lbs total bike weight, or 350 lbs total with MTNtek stabilizer straps and anchors installed)
  • Manufacturing defects in welds, bends, or machined components
  • Material defects including premature cracking, warping, or failure of structural parts
  • Defective hardware (pins, bolts, fasteners) included with the original purchase

What Is Not Covered

  • Improper assembly or installation — Damage resulting from failure to follow the provided assembly guide or installation instructions
  • Misuse or overloading — Exceeding the 80 lb per-bike weight rating, the 250 lb total bike weight limit (or 350 lb limit with stabilizer straps and anchors installed), or your vehicle's tongue weight capacity. Includes using the rack for non-bicycle cargo (motorcycles, scooters, etc.) or failure to properly secure bikes.
  • Failure to use required safety accessories — Transporting bikes without a properly installed safety pin and/or anti-rattle hitch clamp as described in the assembly guide
  • Normal wear and tear — Routine maintenance items, wear parts, or general aging of the product
  • Cosmetic damage — Scratches, scuffs, oxidation, UV fading, chips in powder coating, or decal wear that do not affect structural performance
  • Accident or impact damage — Damage caused by vehicle collisions, road debris, backing into objects, low-clearance impacts, or other external forces
  • Unauthorized modifications — Any alterations to the rack's structure, design, or components not approved by MTNtek. Unauthorized modifications void the warranty and may create hazardous conditions.
  • Third-party accessories — Damage caused by products, accessories, adapters, or hardware not manufactured or sold by MTNtek used in conjunction with the rack
  • Environmental damage — Damage resulting from prolonged exposure to salt, chemicals, or extreme conditions beyond normal outdoor use
  • Unauthorized structural repairs — Structural repairs such as welding, bending, or machining performed by anyone other than MTNtek or an authorized service provider. Note: replacing standard wear hardware (pins, bolts, straps) with equivalent parts is not considered an unauthorized repair and does not void the warranty. However, not all hardware is manufactured to the same standards — replacing hardware with generic or non-equivalent components is subject to review and may void the warranty.

Replacement Parts

MTNtek racks are designed to be field-serviceable using standard hardware. Many components can be replaced by the owner without special tools. Replacement parts are available for purchase directly from MTNtek. Contact us for parts availability and pricing.

Warranty Is Non-Transferable

This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable to subsequent owners. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

How to File a Claim

To file a warranty claim, email us at info@mtntekadventure.com with:

  1. Your order number or proof of purchase
  2. A description of the issue
  3. Photos showing the defect or failure
  4. Your contact information

We will review your claim within 3–5 business days and contact you with a resolution.

Resolution

Warranty claims may be resolved through repair, replacement of the defective component, or replacement of the complete rack, at MTNtek's sole discretion. We will make every effort to resolve claims promptly and completely.

If your product requires return for inspection or repair, we will provide shipping instructions. MTNtek covers the cost of shipping for valid warranty claims.

Limitation of Liability

MTNtek Adventure is not responsible for damage to bikes, vehicles, or other property resulting from the use of our products, including but not limited to improper installation, overloading, failure to maintain, unauthorized modifications, or use outside the product's intended purpose.

Use of this product involves inherent risk. By assembling and using an MTNtek rack, the user assumes full responsibility for safe use, installation, and maintenance. Users are responsible for complying with all local laws and regulations, including license plate and taillight visibility requirements.

MTNtek's total liability under this warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the product.
